CR Techs Vehicle Hand-Over or Battery Reset Procedure

Have you tried a Vehicle Handover or Hard reset?

Mini-Vehicle Handover: This is a system adaptation with the Ignition Key Remote which somewhat realigns some of the CAN and Bus lines and reboots some of the control units allowing the system(s) to return to their normal state in-case of the event of an electrical anomalies(s). Simply lock the car with the key remote, monitor the alarm system status with the status LED. Once the status LED goes from fast to slow blinking, unlock the car with the alarm remote and see if your issue has resolved itself.

Vehicle Handover: This is a system adaptation with the PIWIS-1 tester which realigns all the CAN and Bus lines and reboots all the control units allowing the system(s) to return to their normal state in-case of the event of an electrical anomalies(s). Basically this puts the car into and back out of the Transport Mode. See if your issue is fixed, this might need to happen 1-3 times, or more.

Hard reset:  Remove the two cables from the battery terminals and touch the two together though a resistance such as a 25 watt brake light bulb.  Try to never touch the two battery cables together because this is too quick of a drain for the control units’ capacitors because when you reconnect the battery you could possibly damage one of the control units.  Sometimes it is necessary to leave these two cables together for and hour, several hours or even overnight.

Between these three procedures, you should be able to repair and or at least recover from at least 50-75% of the electrical anomalies and issues in the 9X6 and newer Porsches.
