- Remove underbody panel, drain PDK transmission fluid. Please note: The clutch and gear fluids are the same.
- Support transmission with transmission jack, remove rear transmission support and install VW holding support tools, tool part numbers: Transport eyebolt 9700 x2, VW519 Tube x1, Assembly tool t10301/1 x1, 10301/9 x1. Please note: IF you don’t have these tools, you can utilize a pedestal jack with a 2×6 piece of wood.
- Remove transmission heat shield.
- Replace the PDK transmission pan, pan bolts are steel and can be left alone. Note: The PDK transmission oil pan incorporates the filter assembly. PDK Transmission oil pan bolts (6.00mm x 28.50mm). Torque all the steel oil pan bolts to 7.5 ft-Lb or 10nm. Install new drain plug supplied in genuine kit. Torque drain plug to 11 ft/lbs or 15nm.
- Refit heatshield and torque bolts to 17 ft/lbs or 23nm.
- Refit transmission support, torque bolts of transmission bracket to transmission 48 ft/lbs or 65 nm, transmission support to bracket 17 ft/lbs or 23 nm, second bracket to transmission 89 ft/lbs or 120 nm and transmission support to body 48 ft/lbs or 65 nm.
- Static fill the PDK transmission with clutch fluid until it runs out of the fill-plug hole, install used fill plug by hand.
- Connect a PIWIS-2 or 3 tester scan tool to monitor PDK clutch fluid temperature. Select PDK control unit, actual values and output signals sump temperature.
- Start and run the engine in “Park”, press the brake pedal and cycle the shifter through all shift modes of R-N-D three times, pausing for 1-2 seconds in each mode. Move the shifter selector into “Park” mode.
- Closely monitor the PDK clutch fluid temperature, when the PDK clutch fluid reaches the temperature of 40°C plus or minus 5°C, switch off the engine and wait about 2 minutes.
- Now remove the used fill inspection plug and fill with PDK Clutch fluid until fluid overflows.
- Replace fill plug and torque to 26 ft/lbs or 35 nm.
- Reassemble the car as per the Workshop Manual PIWIS TSI. Always consult with PIWIS TSI for latest information.
NOTE: The Porsche factory recommended Service Interval for the PDK transmission fluid is every 60,000 miles or 6 years. It might be advisable to recommend this service every 40,000 miles or 6 years for a healthier transmission and also for better shifting characteristics.

PDK Dual Clutch Transmission Fluid PN (20 liters): 000.043.207.30 (Usually requires roughly 4.5 – 5.5 Liters)
PDK Dual Clutch Transmission Fluid PN (1 liter): 000.043.305.13 (Usually requires roughly 4.5 – 5.5 Liters)
Please note: We’ve found that with a pan change, you will most likely need roughly 8.5 liters of clutch fluid.
Don’t forget to service the gear oil also.
