CRTechs Complete Car Check-Over

The CR PPI will no longer be offered, it now will be called a “CR Complete Car Check-Over”.

The CR Complete Car Check-over will consist of multiple modules and only be offered as a whole when someone approves as such.

These are the modules we are offering aside from a whole:

VERY THOROUGH CAR CHECK OVER

  • -Check over car ultra-thoroughly
  • -Contact manufacturer for any open recalls or campaigns
  • -Check over car complete mechanically
  • -Inspect for any new suspension components
  • -Inspect for engine and or gearbox replacement

 CONTROLLER INTERROGATION

  • 1987-1989 ALL= 1 hours
  • 1989-1994 964= 1 hours
  • ALL 993’s= 2 hours
  • 1999-2017 ALL= 2 hours

  • -All modules interrogated
  • -All faults documented
  • -Misfires
  • -Overrevs
  • -Engine hours to check average miles per hour (odometer manipulation?)
  • -Camshaft deviation
  • -DME production date
  • -POSIP-Airbag control unit production date
  • -POSIP-Airbag Occurrences or events data
  • -OBD-2 Ready status reached?
  • -Run monitors individually
  • -SAI test for 993’s
  • -TPMS (RDK) battery remaining life
  • -Fuel trim values

 

TEST DRIVE (before and after check-over)

  • -Listen for any squeaks, rattles, wheel bearing, tire noises
  • -Steering wheel straight
  • -Car pulling
  • -Acceleration
  • -Driveline vibrations
  • -Full Throttle
  • -Warning lights, buzzers or bells
  • -Rev limited if applicable
  • -All pedals feel
  • -Shifter synchronizers

BODY

  • -Paint thickness measurement on all Metal and Aluminum body components (not possible on plastic or composite)
  • -Comprehensive visual inspection of paint texture, overspray and color variances
  • -Body lines, seams and gaps
  • -All lenses
  • -Check for ANY accident or repaint work
  • -Remove all underbody and wheelhouse paneling for inspection
  • -Remove all carpeting and items from trunks
  • -Remove all carpeting from interior
  • -Remove headlights and taillights for accident inspection
  • -Are front and rear cowl areas clear? Under cabriolet top stowage cover?
  • -Document options codes and investigate

CHASSIS AND DRIVETRAIN

  • -Brake rotors measured and condition
  • -Brake pads condition and measured
  • -Brake pressure hoses
  • -Brake fluid visual inspection and measure moisture content
  • -Interaxle coupling checked
  • -Does chassis have all EPA required smog equipment
  • -Check for any accident damage
  • -It would be beneficial to have alignment and corner balance checked

 ENGINE

Time depends on Year, Make and Model of vehicle

  • -Older cars you can check engine and gearbox serial numbers
  • -Engine visual for oil leaks
  • -Engine compression test
  • -Engine leak down test
  • -Engine listen on start-up, idle and test drive
  • -Engine oil filter inspection
  • -Engine oil analysis with SPEEDiagnostix
  • -Bore-Scope all M9X cylinder bores from oil sump area, see oil sump plate
  • -M9X and MA1 Manometer test
  • -996’s & 997’s Starter cable voltage drop
  • -Drive belts(s)
  • -Engine oil sump plate removed and inspected, see bore scope
  • -Does engine have all EPA required smog equipment
  • -Coolant reservoir age (color)
  • -Coolant test strip

GEARBOX

  • -Visual inspection
  • -Drain gearbox and inspect fluid
  • -Gearbox oil analysis with SPEEDiagnostix
  • -Front differential fluid drained
  • -Shifting characteristics, synchronizers
  • -Shifter cables visual

INTERIOR

  • -Scratches
  • -Worn upholstery
  • -All switches
  • -All interior lights
  • -Parking brake adjustment
  • -Steering wheel bearing
  • -Clutch pedal helper spring

DOCUMENTATION

-Document very thoroughly all findings
